Service English for Retail Professionals

The contents follow the general service cycle of a retail store. What is coved is job-specific and service-related. The course is relatively short as it does not emphasize on grammar and the technicalities of the English language. Instead it focuses on clarity of speech, appropriate vocabulary and sentences the service provider should use in order to serve the customer effectively.

At the end of the programme, the participant should be able to:

  • Listen and speak confidently with customers of different cultures

  • Use appropriate phrases and vocabulary in retail situations

  • Use service English to interact with customers effectively and professionally

  • The emphasis is on speaking English that is polite and service-oriented.
